It's a waiting game...at Manton Bay
Photo of the week
08 and 5N continue to incubate their clutch of eggs in Manton Bay. In the past few days they have been forced to chase intruding birds on several occasions. Click on photo to enlarge and visit the Manton Bay diary for the latest news from the nest.
08 and 5N are now half way through the long incubation process. After 08's wayward behaviour a few weeks ago, the two birds have now settled into a regular pattern, with the male taking over incubation duties in order to give his mate a break. You can enjoy fantastic views of the nest from Waderscrape and Shallow water hides on the Lyndon reserve. For visiting details, click here.
Two other males continue to build up nests nearby, meaning three Osprey territories can now been seen from the Lyndon reserve. Last week a Scottish female made a fleeting appearance, but unfortunately she has not returned. There's more news in the Manton Bay diary.
...and at Site B
2008 is the sixth year that 03(97) and 05(00) have bred at their nest on private land and, like the Manton Bay birds, they are now well into the incubation period. There's more news in the Site B diary.
