A rare sighting

Having a camera on the Manton Bay nest means that we are very privileged to be able to watch all the intimate moments of Osprey family life, including the not so nice bits. To help explain I’m going to refer to what we call the ‘Osprey Bible’ – Ospreys: A Natural and Unnatural History by Alan Poole.

“Ospreys will sometimes swallow entire tails, wads of skin, and formidable bones when confronted with a chunk they cannot rip apart…Ospreys do regurgitate pellets – wads of indigestible scales and bones and sometimes grass (ingested incidentally) – but these are small and rarely seen…”

Or are they?
