A second egg…

We have been watching the webcam with anticipation of the arrival of the second egg in the Manton Bay nest and at about 12.40pm today our patience was rewarded with a quick glimpse. Just after this 5R returned from a successful fishing trip; bringing a roach back to the bay.

The pair have spent a lot of time together in the nest today and will be gearing up for a long 35 -40 days of full incubation once the third egg is laid in the next few days.

5R seems to enjoy incubating and his mate often has to make a concerted effort to encourage him off the eggs in order to let her sit on them!
