We are 15 minutes leisurely drive west from the A1 Stamford turn off.

Opening Hours & Entry Fees
The Lyndon Visitor Centre is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In summer the Nature Reserve remains open until 8pm. You need a permit to go out onto the reserve. These cost £5.65 for adults, £4.45 for concessions (senior, student, disabled, carer), £3.30 for children under 16. Dogs on leads are welcome.
Day Permits: A charge is made for access to the Egleton and Lyndon reserves with a total of 27 birdwatching hides. There is no further charge for parking. Permits are issued daily and can be obtained from the Centres. Concessions are available for senior citizens, students, disabled visitors and their carers. Family tickets for 2 adults and up to 4 children can be purchased.

Group Visits: We welome group visits and offer a discount for a party of 10 or more, booked in advance £3.80. These visits can begin with an introductory talk about the Reserve by appointment. Please contact the Reserve Administrator for further details.
Lyndon is well worth a visit at any time of year, but as the video below filmed by Dave Cole shows, spring is a particularly special time.
Rutland Water Nature Reserve Annual Permit: For regular visitors this is a very good buy for a family of up to 5 (2 adults and up to 3 children) £60 per family for the year entitles you to as many visits as you like during the year without further charge. This pass is only £36.00 per family if you are a member of the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. (NB This pass does not give access to the Egleton reserve during the Birdfair weekend).
All the above rates give access to both the Egleton and Lyndon reserves.
Dogs (except guide dogs) are not permitted on the Egleton reserve under any circumstances. Dogs on leads are welcome at Lyndon
Disabled access: There is access for the disabled at the Egleton visitor centre and 10 birdwatching hides at the reserve are adapted for wheelchair access. At the Lyndon centre access is possible to Waderscrape Hide, Shallow Water Hide, Teal Hide and Swan Hide and the visitor centre.
Buggy: An electric buggy is available for hire at both Egleton and Lyndon (please ring to check availability – advanced booking is essential).
Toilets there are toilets with disabled facilities at both visitor centres.
Dogs: To safeguard wildlife, grazing sheep and cattle, dogs are not allowed on the Egleton side of the Reserve. At Lyndon, dogs are allowed, but they must be kept on a lead.
Binoculars: For a small donation we can lend you a pair of binoculars for your visit.
