No change in Manton Bay
Photo of the week
The three chicks at Site B are now five weeks old, and growing fast. In this week's photo, 03 can be seen offering the chicks a newly caught trout that he had just taken to the nest. Click on photo to enlarge.
In recent days there has been a clear difference in the behaviour of 08 and 5N at the Manton Bay nest. Whilst 08 has continued to sit tight, it seems that 5N has finally stopped incubating the un-hatched egg.
Despite this, both birds have remained around the nest, providing excellent views for visitors to Waderscrape and Shallow Water hides on the Lyndon reserve. For visiting details, click here.
Triple success at Site B
Our latest film clips show how the Site B Chicks have grown since they hatched six weeks ago. To view the film clips please go to our film clips page. 03 is having to work very hard to keep pace with their insatiable appetites, but appears to be succeeding - delivering up to five fish to the nest every day. Osprey film clips
Over the course of the summer, volunteer Dave Cole is filming our Ospreys at Manton Bay and at Site B. We'll be including a series of short clips on a new page on the website. To see the latest footage, click here.
Osprey cruises
One of the most exciting ways of seeing Ospreys at Rutland Water is to take a guided trip with members of the project team aboard the Rutland Belle.
The next Osprey Cruise with available places is August 14th
