About The Wetlands Institute
The Wetlands Institute is located on 6000 acres of saltmarsh adjacent to Stone Harbor, New Jersey in the U.S. We have a long history of research and conservation efforts and a strong presence in educating children Grades Pre-K through 12, college students, and adults about the importance of wetlands and wetland wildlife.
What we would like to achieve
We have had a camera on our osprey platform since the early 1990s and we are in the process of updating our displays and creating new learning stations and lesson plans.
We would love to have a look at your educational resources to make sure we are going in the right direction and also for providing your information as a resource for visiting educators at our facility.
About our local Ospreys
I am new to the Wetlands Institute, but I come from a nature center just a little south of here where we had an osprey pair select and maintain a nesting platform for over 10 years. We were always excited upon their return in the spring, look forward to seeing their chicks growing in the nest all summer, fledging in August --- and are sad to see the leave in the fall.
