There’s still an Osprey in Rutland!

At this time of year it’s not unusual to see Scottish Ospreys passing through on the way down to their wintering grounds and John Wright has seen at least one unringed bird over the last few days. However, a male that flew over the Burley Fish Ponds this afternoon had a metal ring on it’s left leg and further inspection of the underwing pattern revealed it to be 11(10), a two year old from Site N. He was last seen intruding in Manton Bay twelve days ago and he could well be the last Rutland fledged Osprey left in the area. But for how long?
