Up, up, up …

Now seven weeks old the oldest chick at Site B is getting in plenty of practice in preparation for his first flight. Known as helicoptering, he beats his wings until eventually he lifts himself off the nest, hovers for a little while and then lands back down on the nest.

John was up at Site B yesterday and caught 1F in action as his two younger siblings, 2F and 3F, looked on.

It should only be another week before the chicks in Manton Bay are doing the same.
