What a beautiful day

After a wet start, the weather today turned absolutely glorious! So much so that, with the Centre being fairly quiet now the bank holiday weekend is over, we just had to take a moment to enjoy it. It was lovely to take a break and sit in the warmth of the sun, with the smell of the flowers, the sound of the birds and the taste of an ice-cream!

The Ospreys have been relaxing in the sun aswell today, lazing around the Bay, perching and preening. 33(11) brought in a fish at about 15:15, he ate the first half on a perch then delivered the rest to Maya. Maya somehow got her face stuck in a bit of stick when she took the fish from 33, and the video below shows her having to extricate herself before flying off with the fish!

True to form, 33 has continued to bring in a few more sticks today! He is slowly and surely building a fortress! Look at how much the nest has changed over the past few months – the first photo was taken in March, the second in April and the third in May.

This is what the nest looked like on 17 March when Maya first returned
