Yesterday…

Yesterday was absolutely amazing! So much happened in one day, it was incredible to witness. We all hoped and prayed for the return of these two Ospreys to Manton Bay, and here they are!

John Wright took some fabulous photos of the action as it happened yesterday.

Here is a great sequence of photos of 33 attempting to pick up a dead trout:

Eventually he let this go as it was too heavy for him.

Are there any plans to fit trackers to any of this years chicks? It’s fascinating to follow their spring and autumn migrations and it would be wonderful to know where a juvenile spends it’s first winter abroad. Would the tracker work long enough to follow it on its first migration BACK to Rutland in a few years?

Thanks for the information and pictures, they’re SO fascinating!
