Today has been a day of waiting. Both the female and the staff have been anticipating the arrival of 5R(04), however we were all disappointed.
The female has been trying to re-arrange sticks on the nest which have been annoying her for a few days, but again, another disappointment.
So third time lucky, the picture below shows the female nest scraping, and preparing the nest for the arrival of 5R(04).
To date we have 7 Ospreys back at Rutland Water, the male and female at Site B, plus 5 other females, four of which bred in the area last year. As usual we are awaiting the return of our male birds.
