A week of sunny, settled weather, temperatures soaring, clear skies and a gentle breeze around Manton Bay – it appears that these are ideal conditions for the ospreys to leave on migration.
054 was last seen a week ago and we are sure that she is on her way. 055 and 057 have not been seen for 48 hours and we are convinced that they have departed too.
Only 056 – the 150th chick since the start of the project – remained in the bay with 33 and Maya.
056 had persisted in food begging and was last fed by 33, on 23rd August
and was last seen on the nest on the 24th.
It appears that all four youngsters are on their way.
33 and Maya remain in Manton Bay for now.
