After the first flights of 52(11) and 32(11) in recent days, the excitement in the Manton Bay nest must have proved too much for the third chick 22(11). After several days of furious wing-flapping 22 helicoptered above the nest and landed on the french perch. He then plucked up the courage to have a very short flight before landing back in the nest. The other two chicks are growing in confidence everyday with one of them perching in the poplars on the shoreline this afternoon. It won’t belong before 22(11) follows in the foot-steps of 52 and 32 by landing on the T perch with his parents.
