About Logie Primary School
Logie Primary School serves Dunphail, a scattered hamlet of the parish of Edinkillie. The catchment area of the school stretches from Altyre Estate, south of Forres, to the Highland border. We have two classes, P1-3 and P4-7, with a total of 31 pupils. We have two Green Flags as an Eco-school, and have spent time this year developing the school grounds to create a wildlife area, sensory garden and quiet area to promote outdoor learning through the John Muir Award. The school has a strong community ethos and we frequently undertake cross stage working with the older pupils supporting the younger children. Some of the staff and older pupils have taken part in Osprey watching previously.
What we would like to achieve
We would like to build up meaningful and sustainable links with schools in other countries to enable the children to develop a better understanding of their own environment and culture and compare this to different areas of the world. As well as developing their knowledge we hope this will also encourage our pupils to become responsible citizens.
About our local Ospreys
Roy Dennis has previously visited the school to talk about 'Logie' who unfortunately has died. We have several Osprey nests close to the school.
