The Lyndon Centre is opening on Saturday! We’re all getting very excited as the return of the ospreys gets nearer and nearer. As of today, 30(05) has still not begun her northward journey – we will let you know as soon as she does!
The Lyndon Centre has lain dormant for the past six months, and we are now in the process of bringing it back to life again for the summer! As of 11th March, the visitor centre will be open, the shop will be stocked up with cards, gifts, toys, drinks and ice creams, the live camera will be streaming images from the osprey nest (this will be made available online too), and staff and volunteers will be on hand in the visitor centre and Waderscrape hide to give you all the information and help you may need, seven days a week.
The Osprey Project team are very excited at the prospect of another wonderful osprey season, and are looking forward to welcoming you to the visitor centre! This year the team is made up of some old and some new faces! Meet the team by clicking here!
We’re also looking forward to the assortment of events that we are running over the course of the season. Osprey cruises are our most numerous and popular events, we have 18 cruises taking place between the end of May and the end of August, click here to read all about them! Other events include a bird ringing demonstration on 22nd April, a dawn chorus walk on 6th May and our annual Family Fun Day on 1st August. Click here for more details! We will also be running several discovery and activity trails at the Lyndon reserve during the season – more details of those to come soon!
The Lyndon Centre will be open from 9am – 5pm every day from 11th March until 10th September. You can contact the centre any time during opening hours on 01572 737378. We look forward to seeing you soon!
