Great news from Site B – 03’s mate of the past three summers is back. She arrived early yesterday morning and is already looking very settled at the nest. Although she is unringed, by comparing the photos he took of her yesterday with ones from last year, John Wright has been able to confirm that she is the same bird. She is a week earlier than last year, and obviously intent on adding to her tally of six chicks raised with 03.

Great to see one of the happy couples back together. I love those shots – they really show just how impressive an osprey nest is 🙂
